Transfer to Secondary School

Children normally leave St Benedict's at the end of the school year in which they have their eleventh birthday - the decisive date being 31st August.

Children from St Benedict's would normally continue their Catholic education by attending All Saints School in York. We have excellent liaison with the school and try to make the transition as trouble-free as possible.

Those children who do not opt for a Catholic education at All Saints can transfer to Ryedale School near Helmsley. Those children from the Easingwold area may opt for Easingwold School. Children have also left St. Benedict’s to go to St. Martin’s Preparatory School in Gilling and Ripon Grammar School.

Information regarding secondary schools is circulated to all parents by North Yorkshire County Council during the child's final year. Secondary schools also hold open evenings for pupils in the Autumn Term of Year 5.
