Transport To School

Being a denominational school, St Benedict’s admits children from a fairly extensive catchment area. School buses currently bring children from Easingwold, Oswaldkirk, Gilling and the surrounding areas.

Please use the link below to access information on transport to school that is available on the North Yorkshire County Council Website.

  • Each child must wear a seat belt.
  • Children must remain seated and belted until the bus is stationary.
  • No eating or drinking on the bus.

Parental Responsibility

  • Children should arrive on good time for the bus departure from the specified pick up points.
  • If a child is absent the parent should notify another parent in good time.
  • It is the parents responsibility to ensure the child is safely seated and belted before the bus departs.
  • Parents should ensure that they arrive in good time to collect their child from the bus, unless prior arrangements have been made.
  • Parents are responsible for arranging for children to be dropped off and picked up at a suitable place along the bus route.

School’s Responsibility

  • The children will be supervised onto the bus and belted into their seats before setting off.
  • If there is any doubt about a child travelling, the school will always play safe and keep the child on the premises. Parents will then be informed and asked to collect the child themselves.
