Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) Allocation for 2016/17 is £14,888

The pupil premium is allocated to children from low income families who are currently eligible for FSM (Free School Meals) in both mainstream and nonmainstream settings and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months.

The Government has decided the eligibility for the Pupil Premium will be to any pupil who has been eligible for FSM at any point in the last 6 years.

During 2016-2017 St Benedict’s R.C Primary School chose to spend Pupil Premium for individual pupils on the following:

  • Covering the charges for clubs and extended school activities.
  • Early intervention groups across all key stages.
  • Additional teaching support for Numeracy and Literacy.
  • One to one tuition and booster groups.
  • Additional Resources

The use of the Pupil Premium made a major contribution to the progress made in Reading, Writing and Maths by the eligible children. It also saw improvements in

self- esteem and confidence.

The school’s Self Evaluation Statement clearly identifies further development of the above points in the coming year and will be updated on an ongoing basis. Early intervention such as one to one tuition and booster groups will continue to be a key element in our improvement strategy.
