St Benedict’s School Closure

Effective from  Monday 30th March 2020

Dear Parents

I have been in daily communication with the Local Authority and the leadership team at Saint Margaret Clitherow Academy and we have come to the decision, due to the Coronavirus epidemic, to close the school for the foreseeable future.

The overriding factors in this were the health and safety of all our children, staff and indeed our wider community. I am immensely grateful to you for taking the necessary and sometimes difficult precautions required when finding alternative solutions to your childcare.

School will only reopen when:

  • We have appropriate demand from parents who are classed as Key Workers and are unable to find other ways of looking after their children during school opening times.
  • The government informs schools to begin re-opening a normal.

If you need to speak to anyone at St Benedict’s then you can:

  • Telephone St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School on 01751  473102 and ask to speak to a member of staff there who will deal with your query.
  • E-mail either the school at admin@st-benedicts.n-yorks.sch.uk  or headteacher@st-benedicts.n-yorks.sch.uk  Your emails will be responded to within 24 hours.
  • Telephone St Benedict’s school on 01439 788340 and leave an answer phone message. There will be people in the school intermittently over the course of the week.

In the meantime, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Take care and stay safe

Mr Eddy

Headteacher
